Our highly qualified and creative teachers are not only passionate about Dance; they bring out the full potential in their students. All of these teachers were students of Sydney North Dance.

Fiona-MaberFiona Maber 
Director

Fiona started Ballet at the age of 4. From there she expanded into jazz and tap before deciding to do a full time contemporary ballet course at the Australian College of Physical Education and then do full time Classical Ballet Dancing and Teaching at the Tanya Pearson Classical Coaching Academy, which took her dancing to Europe.

Fiona has extensive experience in performing at corporate events doing dances like the Can Can, Viva Las Vegas Show Girl Dances, Brazilian Carnival Samba and Cheerleading for major sporting teams such as the Sydney Kings and the Parramatta Eels.

She is highly experienced and qualified in teaching classical ballet (Ballet Australasia and Cecchetti qualified) receiving brilliant exam results in teaching exams and dancing exams. She teaches jazz, tap and hip hop in a technical style with a fun and encouraging flair.

Gillian-PalmerGillian Palmer
Senior Tap and Jazz

Gillian has been teaching Tap and Jazz for the last 15 years at the Lorrynne School of Dance. Having trained with Karen Getts, she performed with Karen’s ladies ensemble, the Turramurra Tapettes in various community events. She has appeared in the Dural Musical Society productions of “Stepping Out” and “Runaways” and in the Hornsby Musical Society shows “Hello Dolly” and “42nd Street”. Gillian has choreographed dance performances for local church dance groups for their Easter/Christmas celebrations in addition to creating Tap and Jazz items for the annual Lorrynne concert and designing and making many of the costumes. She is regularly engaged in preparing her students for exams and performances and enjoys passing on to them her love of dance in general and Tap in particular.

Louise HochholzerLouise Hochholzer
Jazz, Contemporary, Hip Hop, Ballet and Tap

Louise is a highly intelligent individual with an amazingly strong dance ability. She’s a talented and creative choreographer in multiple dance styles and has a beautifully patient disposition as a teacher. Miss Louise beautifully choreographed a complete Contemporary Syllabus for her students. She has always loved dancing since she started her training with Miss Fiona and Miss Gillian as a young girl.

She is currently undertaking a Medical Science Degree at University.

Alexandra CairnAlexandra Cairn
Ballet, Jazz and Tap

Alex is Sydney North Dance’s newest teaching recruit. She’s been a student at Sydney North Dance since she was very little and has a beautifully strong classical technique and a vibrant Jazz style. She has a strong work ethic and great self discipline recieving some of the highest marks Sydney North Dance has ever recieved.

Alex is a gentle, reliable and nurturing Dance teacher who inspires her students by leading a great example.
